What most people in the west know as yoga is only one aspect of it: the asanas ( poses) , which along with the pranayama (control breath), are designed to cleanse through air and fire.

Some people are getting lost in the physical challenge of the poses, but yoga is not excersice or gymnastic, the poses are designed to purify the individual, adressing every aspect  of our beings, the benefits of yoga are endless, really the focus  is not only the benfits of the body, but facilitate concentration and meditation in order to reach enlightment.

The concept of surrender is the most valuable lesson yoga teaches, and the challenge of living in the now, without being capture in the past or dreaming about the  future; so the acceptance and the gratitude take place.

When we practice yoga, we surrender into our breath, into a pose, our minds, ourselfs and our situations in life, learning to live without judgement.
